Interreg IIIA - VSD
High-trunk grassland orchards as the elements of protection of biotic diversity and aesthetic value of the landscape
We applied for this project in frame of SLO-CRO-HUN Interreg IIIA neighbouring program. Our partners are the Institute of Agriculture and Forestry from Novo Mesto, Slovenian Institute for Nature Protection, Žumberak Nature Park – Samoborsko Gorje and Croatian Institute for Agricultural Counselling. The project started on the 1st of September 2005 and will be concluded on 30th of June 2007 (22 months).
Institute of Agriculture and Forestry from Novo Mesto is the applicant and project carrier. Kozjanski Park holds a position of National Partner 1, and our responsibility is to take action and protect biotic diversity of high-trunk orchards and the aesthetic value of the landscape.
Kozjanski Park is planning to buy 3.9 hectares of agricultural land for project activities. Our aim is to set up a tree nursery and a parent orchard. During the project we intend to plant trees along the road between Bistrica ob Sotli and Kumrovec.
