Transromanica

Kozjanski Park is a partner in the transnational project TRANSROMANICA (Transnational  Network and Itineraries of the Romanesque) in the frame of INTERREG IIIB/CADSES program. The project is founded by European Union.

Five countries and regions (Saxony-Anhalt, Thüringen, Province of Modena, Carinthia and Slovenia) joined their efforts to establish a network of most important Romanesque monuments in Europe.

The aim of TRANSROMANICA is to promote sustainable development of regions and connections among them on the basis of cultural tourism or common European heritage from the Romanesque period.  The main aim of our project is to emphasize the common historical background and to develop cultural-tourist programs without borders.

Project duration:
November 2003 – October 2006

Romanesque monuments in Slovenia included in the project:

  • Podsreda Castle
  • Ivančna Gorica – Stična Monastery
  • Koper – Hrastovlje – Cathedral and Church of Holy Trinity
  • Laško – Jurklošter and Church of St. Martin
  • Ptuj – Ptuj Castle

On the web site www.transromanica.com you can find the presentation of our project and get information and web links of all 5 partners. The Slovenian monuments are included, too.
