On 13 November 2025, an international expert conference was held at Podsreda Castle within the cross-border Interreg Slovenia\u2013Croatia project \u201cCaring for Dry Grasslands Important for Biodiversity\u201d \u2013 CarEx. The project focuses on developing management approaches and preserving grasslands and biodiversity in two protected areas.<\/p>\n

The event brought together more than one hundred participants from 36 institutions in Slovenia and Croatia \u2014 national authorities responsible for nature conservation, public institutes managing protected areas, universities, research organisations, expert companies, associations, and other stakeholders working in the fields of conservation and grassland management.<\/p>\n

The central theme of the conference was grasslands and biodiversity, complemented by presentations of good practices, challenges, and experiences in grassland conservation and management. Due to high interest, the event was also broadcast live online.<\/p>\n

The CarEx project, carried out by the Kozjansko Park Public Institute, the Croatian Natural History Museum, the Public Institution \u201c\u017dumberak\u2013Samoborsko gorje Nature Park\u201d, the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts \u2013 Institute of Ornithology, and the National Institute of Biology as the lead partner, will be completed in August 2026. By then, the project team will also prepare a compendium of good management practices and recommendations to support protected-area managers in both Slovenia and Croatia.<\/p>\n

The international expert conference at Podsreda Castle confirmed that grasslands are among the richest \u2014 yet also among the most vulnerable \u2014 habitats. Their long-term preservation can only be achieved through joint efforts of expert institutions and the local community.<\/p>\n

The CarEx project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg Slovenia\u2013Croatia Programme.<\/p>\n

Me\u0111unarodni stru\u010dni skup <\/strong>\u201cTravnjaci i bioraznolikost<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

Na dvorcu Podsreda u Kozjanskom parku 13. studenoga 2025. odr\u017ean je me\u0111unarodni stru\u010dni skup u okviru prekograni\u010dnog projekta Interreg Slovenija\u2013Hrvatska \u201cBrigom o suhim travnjacima \u010duvamo bioraznolikost\u201d \u2013 CarEx, koji je usmjeren na razvoj upravljanja travnjacima i o\u010duvanje bioraznolikosti.<\/p>\n

Skup je okupio vi\u0161e od sto sudionika iz 36 institucija iz Slovenije i Hrvatske \u2013 dr\u017eavnih tijela nadle\u017enih za za\u0161titu prirode, javnih ustanova koje upravljaju za\u0161ti\u0107enim podru\u010djima, sveu\u010dili\u0161ta, znanstvenoistra\u017eiva\u010dkih organizacija, stru\u010dnih tvrtki, udruga te drugih dionika koji svakodnevno djeluju na podru\u010dju za\u0161tite prirode i upravljanja travnjacima.<\/p>\n

Osnovna tema doga\u0111aja bili su travnjaci i bioraznolikost, a predstavljene su dobre prakse te izazovi i iskustva u njihovom o\u010duvanju i upravljanju. Zbog velikog interesa sudjelovanje je bilo mogu\u0107e pratiti i putem prijenosa u\u017eivo.<\/p>\n

Projekt CarEx, u kojem sudjeluju Javna ustanova Kozjanski park, Hrvatski prirodoslovni muzej, Javna ustanova \u201cPark prirode \u017dumberak \u2013 Samoborsko gorje\u201d, Hrvatska akademija znanosti i umjetnosti \u2013 Zavod za ornitologiju te Nacionalni institut za biologiju kao vode\u0107i partner, zavr\u0161ava u kolovozu 2026. Do tada \u0107e projektni partneri pripremiti i zbornik dobrih praksi i preporuka koji \u0107e biti koristan upraviteljima travnjaka u Sloveniji i Hrvatskoj.<\/p>\n

Me\u0111unarodni stru\u010dni skup na dvorcu Podsreda potvrdio je da su travnjaci jedni od najbogatijih, ali ujedno i najranjivijih stani\u0161ta. Njihovo dugoro\u010dno o\u010duvanje mogu\u0107e je samo zajedni\u010dkim djelovanjem stru\u010dnih institucija i lokalne zajednice.<\/p>\n

Projekt CarEx sufinanciran je sredstvima Europskog fonda za regionalni razvoj u okviru Interreg programa Slovenija\u2013Hrvatska.<\/em><\/p>\n
