INSTITUTE COUNCIL and INSTITUTE PROFESSIONAL COUNCIL
The council of the Kozjanski Park Public Institute is a body of the institute, composed of 15 members. Five members are appointed by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, five are representatives of the municipalities within the protected area, and five are representatives of the employees of the Kozjanski Park PI.
The powers of the Council of the Institute are defined in Articles 18 and 19 of the Statutes of the Kozjanski Park Public Institution.
The provisions governing the work of the Council of the Institute shall include Rules of Procedure for the work of the Council of the Kozjanski Park Public Institute adopted by the Council of the Institute.
For the 2022–2026 term of office, the Council of Kozjanski Park PI is composed of the following members:

- Darija Štraus Trunk, Municipality of Podčetrtek

- Dušan Blatnik, Municipality of Brežice
- Dušan Berkovič, Municipality of Bistrica ob Sotli
- Barbara Ploštajner, Kozjanski Park Public Institute – Deputy Chairperson of the Council

INSTITUTE PROFESSIONAL COUNCIL
The Institute’s Professional Council is a 5-member expert and consultative collegiate body. It is made up of at least one member of the Institute’s professional staff and external experts in the fields of nature conservation, cultural heritage protection, agriculture and forestry.
The competences of the Professional Council are defined in Article 26 of the Statutes of the Kozjanski Park Public Institute.
At its second regular meeting on 20/01/2023, the Council of Kozjanski Park Public Institute approved the appointment of the Kozjanski Park Professional Council, consisting of:
- Teo Hrvoje Oršanič, MA, Director of the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation
- Mitja Zupančič, BEng zoo. techn., specialist advisor II for organic farming, Agricultural Institute Celje
- Andreja Mihelčič Koželj, engineer of landscape architecture, Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, Celje Regional Office
- Ana Vovk Korže, associate prof., Faculty of Arts in Maribor
