In the town, where nature and culture with a rich past shake hands, there are many interesting sights: the European cornel, pillory or “pranger”, Ajdovska žena (Pagan Woman), linden tree, Church of St. Michael, Chapel of St. Emma, old classroom with an exhibition on education, walls of the former Peilenstein Castle.

Pilštanj is today one of the stops on Emma’s Pilgrimage Route, which connects the places in Slovenia and Austria connected with Saint Emma.
The ancient town of Pilštanj is divided into three sections and a trail leads through it:

  1. Market Trail – length 500m
  2. Castle Trail – length 600m
  3. Trail to Vina gora – length 3,000m
