MUSICAL SUMMER
The Musical Summer at Podsreda Castle has a long tradition in Kozjansko Park since it has been held since 1995 and has become an indispensable part of the local environment, enlivening the summer months for both the local population and visitors to Podsreda Castle as well as our protected area.
The mighty castle walls are filled with sounds by well-known music masters and their students during the summer months. The Musical Summer programme with music seminars represents an important contribution to the revival of the renovated castle building. Seminars at the Podsreda Castle are the only such education programme in the entire Kozjansko region that offer excellent music education as they are held under the mentorship of internationally recognized musicians. Work at the seminars is conducted individually, which allows participants to become familiar with technique, rhythm and harmony, as well as allowing them to play in groups. The seminars also help participants prepare for stage performances and overcome stage fright.
Every year, the Musical Summer at Podsreda Castle offers several music seminars for beginners, junior, and senior music school students as well as college students.
The artistic leader of the Musical Summer at Podsreda Castle is Professor Andrej Zupan.
